Hi Deb Thanks for the help,as i've said only really family hearsay to go on with regard to Alfred, thought i may of cracked it with the death cert. Supposed to of been sent additional information about him from my fathers cousins some months ago but still waiting, harder to contact the living sometimes. Thanks again Mike

Oh Tricia I miss read your last comment and thought you too had a brickwall. lol Michael, hopefully the Gallimore's we uncovered today are related in some small way *fingers crossed * Family stories of our ancestors always lead us down at least several garden paths until we catch up . It's good to follow leads such as the census info to the end so you can either claim the folk or discard and elimante. Good luck and happy hunting Much happiness Debi

Hi Tricia, Thats the third occupation that i have heard he has had up till now, also whilst researching i don't think i have came across a relative that has not changed occupation,if you didnt work,no money, work house -in other words you did ANYTHING!!!!!!!! Hopefully these Gallimores are required,i did state i wasnt sure, thanks for the help and i'm sure the info given will be usefull The only concrete record i have is on the Marriage cert, the rest is just either Family hearsay,or assumptions, what im trying to do is gather information, and trying to gain the concrete evidence Thanks once again Mike

Hi Michael Thanks for the extra information, however I've found no new info for you. However I think it's fair to say the Death cert you have received today is not the Alfred you are looking for. As the info we've found on the census 1901 - 1871 on the chap confirm he was single and never married. I couldn't find Mary & Ann on the 1891 census I'm afraid ( perhaps they were still in Ireland - sadly the 1891 Irish census was destroyed in a fire ) If you think Alfred came to England with his daughters perhaps you may have some luck looking for a death cert for him in the District of West Derby which covers the Garston area? Much happiness Debi

I think this must be Mary in 1901 Elizabeth Barry 21 Ireland Wife Garston Lancashire Samuel Barry 23 Garston, Lancashire, England Head Garston Lancashire Mary Gallimore 20 Ireland Boarder Garston Lancashire 13 year old Ann is a servant at 13. Who is Mary age 11 on 1901 - is this name correct. Don't think we can do much more - sure he is in Ireland. What was his birthplace(Alfred, I mean)

Hi, Deborah, Would you like to share the brick wall that I am currently bashing my head against???? We've just researched someone else's family tree. I don't think he was born in Widnes and is probably hiding in Ireland on all the Census Michael - make a detour to Surrey tonight and I'll give you a good whack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why didn't you tell us his profession you naughty chap!!!! Love you really, Tricia

Michael Whats the daughters name? How old on her marriage cert? Living where at the time of her marriage in 1901? and what was the occupation of her father and his full name? The Alfred we've just been tracing is a SINGLE man . The above info could help track your Alfred in from 1901 - 1871 census. By tracing the daughter we should find her with her father ?

Hi Tricia all i have is the death cert received today,i have his name on his daughters marriage cert when she married my g.grandfather in 1901. The story goes that he married possibly in ireland,he did apparently have children born there,Athlone and possibly Athenry, apparently died this country but i possibly need to look at other later deaths aswell Regards Mike

Hi, Michael, Someone must be telling porkies!! Presumably Alfred married between 1891 and his death. Do you have his wife's name, age and birthplace. She should appear as a widow on 1901. I can't find Alfred on 1901. I did find the birth and death of an Alfred Gallimore registered Bolton in 1897. Might be theirs??? Tricia

Thank you again Debbie, and thank you Tricia, i believe i've actually drank in the Albert Hotel, and i've a 140 mile drive to widnes tonight, might have another one. The only thing puzzling me is the fact that a now deceased relative reckons that they met Alfred Gallimore, who was their Grandfather, but they were not born untill about 1909,i really need to check other deaths around the Liverpool area after this date to eliminate that story Regards mike
