Diane Holroyd, I'm really sorry but I didn't make much progress on your request. I started looking but was pressed for time and the name variations were a killer! I'm sure you understand!!! I'm going back next week and I will make this a priority if you still need a search. Email me if you want me to look on my next visit.

Marcie in Bucks, The FRC indexes do not give details of parents, etc, so I'm afraid you need to order the certificate to get these details.

Louise

Louise Report 16 Feb 2005 22:57

Ann from Cheshire, I'm afraid the references you gave me were from before general registration so the FRC BMD indexes don't help. You'll need to check parish records on this one!

Louise

Louise Report 16 Feb 2005 22:54

Ciara, Re. your request on John Jameson. I can't tell you anymore than the ref you already have, I'm afraid you have to order the certificate to get more details.

Irene, I tried looking for William Augustus John Brown from Jan 1850 to Dec 1852 but I couldn't find him. I'm afraid there were too many William Browns for me to check the ones without middle names in the time available. Sorry!

Mad Alice, Emily Faichen birth ref is ... Sep 1839, Southampton, vol: VII (7), page: 161 It was really bad hand writing on this page but I'm fairly sure this is OK.

Anonymous link, Sorry but the FRC indexes only give the reference numbers. If you want the parents' names you need to order the certificates.

Hello Louise Thank you for your kind offer. I would really like to order the birth certificate for Emily Faichen. She was born in Southampton which i think was then in the county od Southampton and was aged one on the 1841 census. Alice

Hi Louise, would you be so kind as to look up a marriage please? William Atack/Atock/Attwick/Atick b 1822 at Norton nr Doncaster and a Mary Ann Hinsley b 1826 at Balne . The first child born to them was in 1847 so if you did 1846-1847 that should cover it,I have searched 1837 online through every quarter from 1839-1850 without finding them. I think the spelling of the surname is the problem aand the above spellings are a just a few i have encountered!! Thank you so much Regards Diane

I'm going to the FRC on Wednesday and have some spare time. Let me know here (no emails please!) if you want any BMD look ups, giving as much info as possible. PLEASE NOTE - the indexes only give the individual's name, district, vol and page. They do not give details of parents or addresses. I'm afraid you have to order the certificates for that! Louise
