Anne, Lots of options, but none close enough to make a match (I checked childrens names against the best matches). I tried searching under place of birth as Whitley, Womersley and Yorkshire and all combinations and permutations but found nothing definite :O( Sorry! Louise

Jennifer Report 10 May 2005 18:12

Hi Louise They look like my William and Caroline. She was born 1848/49 and he was christened in 1841 but I can find no birth entered for him. He was illegitimate so probably wasn't too shure of his age in 1861. They married in Oct 1877 but a son, Edward Karsmore is mentioned in the 1881 census aged 12. I think the Karsmore is a mistake as his mother's maiden name is mis spelt on my grandmother's birth cert and altered. I was curious to know if Edward was William's son or if he had another father. I had hoped the 1871 census would show if Caroline and William were together when he was born or if Caroline was living with someone else. Never mind. Thanks for all your efforts. Jenny

Hi Louise It's very kind of you to offer to do this. 1871 census: Please could you give me fuller details of James Key, born around 1827 in Northamptonshire, living in London I have found him on the Ancestry 1871 index, but would dearly like to know more of him and his family (was he a hairdresser like the rest of the ones I know about, or maybe a printer?) Many thanks in advance. Regards Helen
