Thank you very much for this offer. I wonder if you could find an immigration record for any of the following NORMAN brothers: Albert b.1854, Walter b. 1858 and Harry b. 1867. I believe they left Somerset for America between 1871 and 1881. With many thanks. |

Hi Mary Wondered if you can find John L Anderson, born in Scotland 1856. Missing on 1881 census in Scotland, so couldve travelled to U.S between 1872 and 1890. His occupation was mason on 1901 census in Scotland. One of his children was born 1890 in Pittsburgh, so may be in that area. He may have travelled from Scotland or England. I understand if you can't find him, Andersons are aplenty everywhere!! Many Thanks Leanne x |

Re my Norman brothers. They were all born in Bruton, Somerset and in 1871 Walter and Albert were described as farm labourers. Looking at my notes, on the Michigan census Albert gives an immigration date of 1875. Hope this will be of some help. Many thanks. |

Hi Mary Re JOHN L ANDERSON He was born 1856 in Saline Fife. His wife was Elizabeth Baxter, only details I have is she was born in Cumberland England. They had 2 children, David Anderson born 1890 in Pittsburgh and Robert Anderson born 2 years later, usure if he was also born in Pittsburgh. They were back in Dalgetty Fife for 1901 census. Many thanks Leanne x |

Hello Mary, I would be most grateful if you could look for Frederick William Fenn. he was born in 1875 Kensington The last census he was on was 1891 when he was living at 114 Fifth Avenue, Chelsea age 15 an errand boy. This census gives his dob as 1876 and place of birth as Notting Hill. He was living with his mother and siblings. His mother died in 1891 and the family scattered. At some stage he went to the US, he already had a brother Percy b 1865 who had gone there in 1885. I have looked on Ancestry and there is a record for someone of that name in 1908 (I think, I saw it, then couldn't get back to it). I can't find him on the 1901 census, so it is possible that he went earlier, or it may just be that with the family scattered, he was missing from the census. I am sorry that I can't provide more information and apologise if it is too big a task. Linda |

Hi Mary, Thankyou for the very kind offer. I have one person im hoping to locate. His name was George Caird, born Tealing, Angus, Scotland on the 4th May 1879. It is believed he may have lived/worked in Syracuse. I know he died in NY in 1963 and his NI No was 074-05-9766. I believe he went to the US before 1900 and would of probably of sailed from Glasgow. I have checked with Ellis Island, although there are 2 George Caird's on there the dates dont marry up..Infact i know that one of the two is connected to me via another part of my ancestry. So i can not state with any certainty that he would of disembarked in NY. Any information is very much appreciated Mary. Many thanks. Regards.. Andy |
