Hi Maureen, Thanks for your offer but you seem to be inundated. If you have the opportunity, I would like you to look for Mary Ann Foster b 1811 Durham, Gateshead. Regards Jean Dear Maureen, I have had a further look at the census' and think that MaryAnn was in fact born 2 years earlier in 1809. She has a sister Hannah (age 1861 census 49: age 1871 census 60) so possibly spring birth!!! I am looking for the names of their parents. Regards Jean

Hi Linda What makes you think that they were married up here in Durham..?? Have you checked the St Catherine's House Index for the marriage.. or 1837 online This is a huge area and you cannot just punch in a name and get the results these are all manual searches of Church Records on Microfilm.. I could spend hours looking for them and not find anything.. I will need at least some sort of idea of a Registration District and a year and we could take it from there.. When did they leave Lincolnshire..?? Were they still in Lincolnshire in 1881 ?? I know I can work miracles sometimes but Gateshead; Felling; Heworth are all very large areas covering loads of churches..for this time Need some more info before I will look at this one Find the marriage year please Maureen

Maureen Please, if you have time & I've given enough info, can you look up the marriage of Hannah Watson to Joseph Knott - 24/9/1808 Gateshead. Thank you. Angela

Hi Maureen You ask how sure I am about John Reed and Margaret Bone's 19 December 1813 marriage taking place in St. Peter's Church Monkwearmouth - I have the information from the Monkwearmouth Registers indexed by George Bell. There seems to be no other church mentioned for this period. If you get a chance to check this church's records I would be grateful - put it down to genealogy intuition! Susan

Hi Maureen, You very kindly found two marriages for me in Hartlepool and Stockton, on your first visit to the record office from this thread. Could I please ask for another marriage look up. I have what I think might be the marriage reference (I know this isn't what you need for the record office):- WILLIAM LITTLEFAIR, June qtr. 1865, Durham, 10a, 420. His first son, John Littlefair was born c.1865 in Brancepeth according to census records, and next son in Thornley, so I'm hoping the marriage is around the Brancepeth area. His wife's name is JANE ??????? William's father's name should be Thomas. As I'm doing this for my brother-in-law, I can't afford to send for certificates as it takes me all my time to afford my own. It's Jane's surname that I'm looking for. Thanks in advance if you have time to look. Kath. x
