Webster I have gone mad. I cannot find a marriage record between my gt grandmother and her 2nd husband. I know that Emma Matthews was widowed May 1879 and appears with 2nd husband John Garvie in 1881 census, having their first baby in June of that year. BUT I can't find their wedding in GRO indexes, or in any of the churches in Islington (where she lived in 1879) or Greenwich (where they were on 1881 census night). They could have married anywhere else in London and the marriage not reached the GRO. That's maddening! nell
