Brian Morris - I've managed to look at the marriage, but not the baptism yet Tynemouth Christchurch Marriages Robert Ennis of this parish Batchelor and Isabella Wilson of this Parish Spinster were married in this church by Banns this 26th day of May 1833 by me Christ Reed Vicar Robert signs his name, Isabella leaves her mark (x) Witnesses William Wilson and Isabella Young Chris Alexander - This is the only Kidd burial I could find in that period. It could be she was buried elsewhere so won't appear in these registers. Will try for a baptism next time I go. Tynemouth, Christchurch Burials 1856 Elizabeth daughter of John and Elizabeth Kidd, Hudson Street, Buried 16th February, age 3 weeks

Am about to go and do some more lookups so look out for my next post tonight :) UPDATE - It seems I needed to book tonight (it's usually quiet on a Wednesday night!). Nevermind I have booked for a space on Friday (library isn't open tomorrow night) so fingers crossed I'll find some bits and pieces then.

Yes the records office is closed so a lot of the parish records are in Morpeth library at the moment. As I live so close to the library I'm offering to do lookups there. Look out for my next Northumberland lookups topic when I put one up (at this rate it'll probably be sometime in March at the earliest) and put your Warkworth and Amble lookups on there. best wishes Sarah

Hi Darth Many thanks for the information, I will now have to try and see what I can make of these, the Andrew Merrin is definitely one of mine I notice you mention the library does that mean that local records are available at North Shilelds library? I have also been trying to find out where records for Hauxley Amble and Warkworth are held, but apparently the main records office is closed Thanks again judith

David in France - Not got far enough through the baptism records to reach Sarah yet. Did her dad come from North Shields/Tynemouth? There are several Robert Brown's being baptised during the time period I was looking at. Have you any information about Robert?

Ok I've been in to the library today and I've started doing some of the lookups. I am ONLY doing Christchurch at Tynemouth for the moment. If you want any other parish you will have to wait until I do my next general set of lookups in a few weeks time I'm afraid! Today I've done the baptisms 1805 to 1815. Up until the end of 1812 they have lots of information in them but after 1812 they are fairly basic. Maid Marian - No Stebbins, Stebbens, Stibbins yet

Hi Darth That's very generous of you I'd be very grateful if you could see if you can find a baptism for Sarah Brown, daughter of Robert and Ann Brown, in North Shields in 1836-37. She is on the 1851 census age 14 - all her younger siblings show as born Bishopwearmouth, but she, the eldest is North Shields. Many thanks David

Dorothy - I will check the Tynemouth Christchurch records for a baptism but North Shields had their own church by 1890 so I may not find him. I'm just concentrating on the one church for the moment as it is a very very very busy church which means it takes a while to search for single names.
