Hi Jo, I wonder if you would be able to look for the marraige of Joseph Dearlove born abt 1830 (i dont know were) to a Elizabeth Slayter born abt 1831 Sherrington Bucks. They had children Elizabeth abt 1855,Sherrington Sarah 1857 Hilmorton,Warwickshire. I would be interested to find out were Joseph came from and his parents. I do know that Elizabeths parents were Joseph Slayter and Eleanor Brooks they came from Sherrington. Thanks Sue x

Hi Jo Thank you for your kind offer. I am looking for the names of parents of William Higgs born in Rowsham or Wingrave. He married Elizabeth Bates in Oct 1785, so I guess his birth could have been from 1755 to 1769. If this is too vague then please disregard my request, I know it's like looking for a needle in a haystack!! Many thanks Christel

Thanks Jo ! As previously requested, can you please have a look for any wills between 1730 -1830 for the surname PUTTNAM,PUTNAM or VERE. Around the Aston Clinton area, including Pitstone, Buckland or nearby villages. Also the Bastardy bonds for those names between the same dates, particularly Alice Puttenham, & Joseph Puttenham, or Puttnam/Putnam (name variants) alias VERE. Joseph was born in 1761, to Alice, no father's name on the Parish records, so I assume he may have been illegitimate. However he married with the surname VERE & was listed in the Parish records as Joseph Puttnam alias VERE so I think his father could have been a VERE ?? Would the Poor law records help at all ? I don't know where else to look. I have never been able to find Alice's birth & have been lucky enough to check in Herts Records Office today, still no trace of her. I have checked Bucks births for her before, & never found her. I am hoping a will may give me a clue as to Joseph's father, & also I think Joseph would have left a will as well. Would it be possible for you to look up the father of Jesse Parslow born 1840 in Princes Risborough. His mother was Charlotte and he had siblings Fanny b. 1837, Jane b. 1839 & Ann b. 1847. Any help would be much appreciated.

Julie No birth of Celia Hear/hurn in either Great Kimble or Little Kimble. I tried to find a marriage but the Little Kimble marriages are not there. There are some Hurn children born in Gt Kimble David Hurn christened 11/6/1837 to Mark and Caroline Colin Hurn Shrimpton 18/2/1838 to Caroline only. Maybe Mark had died by then. Sheerluck Had problems with my printer today and could not print the mesages off so just took down the name and date. So though I looked for births, I missed the marriages ( I will look next time - later this week) Found Matthews baptism on 11/5/1786 to Thomas and Maria. There is only one Matthew having children of the correct age. Matthew & Sarah had Jane Sept 1815 & Marianne June 1818. I will have another look later this week. Jo
