So.......just checking, can we presume that 1851 Alfred H Groom, is Alfred Hyde (Groom) it's not another one is it???? , you'll have to catch up with the books at the weekend! (Also bet Sarah Hyde never married Alfred's father Charles Froud.) |

I would go with that. Alf's year of birth changes somewhat over the census years. Might be worth asking for a parish look-up for Shepperton, to see if he was christened, or if Sarah did marry Charles Froude, but, like you, I doubt it. Wonder what it says on the marriage cert. (to George Groom) |

Might be worth getting hold of Alfred's too - that way would know who Mary's father was, just in case children are staying with her parents! |
