Hi all, I'm looking for any info on Robert Clarke from the 1881, 91, 1901 census. He was born 1868 at Hough on the Hill, Lincolnshire. Mother Sophia, b 1839, also Hough on the Hill. I have no idea of father or siblings. I hope someone can help. Thanks, Simon.

Working with Robert C Barnett, 1868, Hough, Lincoln, this info from 1891 Insurance agent, lodging with Sarah Waddington, a widow, and her daughter, in Colsterworth, Lincs.

The problem is that we don´t know if the Robert Clark Barnett, b1868, Hough, is the same as the Robert Clark that Simon is trying to trace. Simon - we cant go any further without your feedback !!

Tailor. & Sophia Clarke b 1811Stamford Lincolnshire, d 1886. m 06/06/1835 HOTH 6 Thomas Barnett bap 24/04/1836 HOTH d 26/04/1836 HOTH 6 Richard Barnett bap 21/05/1837 HOTH d 03/08/1837 HOTH 6 Sophia Barnett bap 07/07/1839 HOTH & Unknown Clark 7 Robert Clarke b 1869 HOTH. The 1871 census has Robert as grandson of John Askew and Sophia. The name Sophia Clarke comes from a relative but i've not checked. Just coincidence that Mother and Daughter both called Sophia one was ne Clarke one married a Clarke. Thomas, Richard and Sophia off IGI as children of John Askew Barnett and Sophia. Now I am confused. You say Robert Clarke is on 1871 as grandson of John Askew - but that is Robert C Barnett - or am I missing something? The information you have from the IGI - has it been submitted by a member or has it been transcibed from records? Heat must be getting to me, can't find Robert Clark(e) 1868, Lincoln on IGI either - that's it - I submit - where are those books!!

Solved it, almost. Thanks for all the help. It's now clear I was given some duff info earlier. I was given Robert Clarke as son of Sophia b1839. That was wrong. Thanks for clearing that up. I still however have no record of what happened to Sophia b 1839. Any thoughts. Interesting that the little fella Robert C Barnett was in the census twice. Something else for the book! It's been worth it for that alone. Again, thanks for the help. Any thoughts on Sophia b 1839 if you've not all blown a fuse. I've learnt a lesson. Cheers, Simon.
