Hi Claire Many thanks for looking, I don't know of any where else Eliza could have been baptised,it just states Wortley in the birth register, I think that is the registration district for Bradfield. Thanks again Kay

ZOE HARROP I had a look at the parish records for Crookes with you saying he lived there but there was no record for Christopher in the registers for here. Regards Claire x

MHAIRI QUEEN OF SCOTS No luck with your Hollinsworths. The SA doesnt have indexes at all for the parents of every child born in Sheffield so its a case of having to go through the parish records. Without knowing which parish these children came from, it was impossible for me to check who the parents were. Also, to check for burial plots, you have to specially book a different reader to what I use to it wasnt possible to check if the people you listed had anyone else in their graves. Regards Claire x

ANN LIBBY I have found this baptism at St Stephens, Fawcett Street, Sheffield: 10th June 1891 of Thomas James Willey, son of George and Ellen of 169 St Phillips Road. George is listed as a Warehouseman. Hope this is your man. Regards Claire

Hello all, I went to the archives today, heres the results: KAY SHERMAN I am really sorry that I couldnt find your Eliza - I went through Bradfield and not there so I went through all the nearest churches i could think of - Bolstertone, Wadsley, St Phillips, St Stephens and Stannington. I am hoping to go back in a couple of weeks which i will put up a thread for in a couple of days, if you think there could be anywhere else she might have been baptised in, let me know and i will try again. Claire xx

I have you all noted so far. Berni and Zoe, Would you be able to tell me which part of Sheffield your ancestors were? The archives only has parish records and not actual birth and marriage certificates so I would have to go through for baptisms. This means I need to get out the original parish records to search for your ancestors but I would need to know roughly which part of Sheffield they come from so I can get the right ones out. Thanks, Claire xx

Hi Claire, Thats very kind of you. Could you look up CHRISTOPHER CARLTON born 1920 Q2 - Sheffield - 9c 1107 Any info on there about his mother or father and his actual date of birth would be great. Also of his marriage 1947 Q3 - Sheffield - 2d 233. If there is any info on professions and again actual date. My grandfather died when my mother was 13 and up until a few years ago when my grandmothers flat had a gas explosion she had all the originals. She said its sad to say but she can't even remember his birthday. Any info would be great, thanks again Zoe
