Yeah I know, would save alot of hard work for all of us, but like we said, streets were renamed and houses were re-numbered. Im not sure on the baby death, have you looked at the normal idexes to see if its listed, I know there is a still birth register but I havent had any cause to use it.

Is there any way I can do an address search? Its a shame there isn't somewhere that lists the whole house hold together for the year I want lol. Also I wonder if you can help, if some one had a baby that died shortly after birth and had a communual buriel where would the birth have been registered if the certificate came from the hospital?

The 1915 entry with mothers maiden name is from familyrelatives, the site I gave you earlier. After 1911 you can use both the mothers maiden name and fathers surname together when searching. But you can only search like this for births on familyrelatives between the years 1911 and 1920. Familyrelatives is also good for finding marriages between the years 1866 and 1920 because as I said the records for this period have been completely transcribed.

There is a few for the bristol area, but you cant confirm they are yours without the birth certificate because they are before 1911 and dont list the mothers maiden name. 163 Boulton Doris Ellen Bristol.6a 135 Birth 1 1909 164 Boulton Doris Caroline Bristol.6a 182 Birth 3 1905 165 Boulton Doris Elizabeth Bristol.6a 185 Birth 4 1901

God, your good! I been on here for hours. You didn't happen to see a Doris or Dorothy did you? Thats what Daw could be short for

Trying to find siblings after 1901 is difficult, until it gets to 1911 then the mothers maiden name is given in the indexes. To get all the other siblings you might just have to wait until after 2011 when the 1911 census comes out.

I have lots of relatives that moved into three or four different houses in the same street. They usually just rented rooms and would move about for either more or less rooms as required. I'd be pretty certain that this was the right family, and if you check the complete birth index on Ancestry after 1901, you'll probably find the sisters being born after 1901. Kath. x

Marcelle Report 6 Oct 2006 10:58

Marcelle Don't take this the wrong way, but.........relatives can be mistaken, or misinformed. And I doubt if any of them were around in 1901............. Don't rule out these people, just because there's a boy in the family............he might have died at a young age, apart from anything else. Reg

This looks like the family in 1891:- Name: Lilly Boulton Age: 1 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1890 Relation: Daughter Father's name: William Mother's name: Carolin Gender: Female Where Born: Bristol Civil parish: St Philip and St Jacob Ecclesiastical parish: St Luke County/Island: Gloucestershire Country: England Street address: 85 Barton Hill Road Occupation: William's occupation is House Painter Condition as to marriage: Education: Employment status: View image Registration district: Barton Regis Sub registration district: St Philip ED, institution, or vessel: 35 Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Carolin Boulton 19 Lilly Boulton 1 William Boulton 19 As it's the same street as your family lived, then I think it's a fair bet that it's the right family, and people did change jobs quite a lot.
