Hi, and thank you SO MUCH for this wonderful offer. I've been trying to trace my Grandfather, WILLIAM DOUGLAS, who I have born some time in 1889. I had thought he was born in Stenhousemuir, but can't find any records there, so it could have been registered elsewhere; i.e., Edinburgh. He had a brother THOMAS DOUGLAS and I have absolutely NO information on him -- don't know whether he's younger or older. The family lived for a lengthy time at 1 Rae Street in Stenhousemuir, but, as I said, have no idea whether the children were born there, or, for that matter, whether there were other children. I want very much to trace the parents as well. If you can find ANYTHING on the family, I would be deleriously happy!! Thanks again for the effort. Linda |

Hi Lynne, I know this is a big ask so if you cannot do it I will understand. ROBERT RITCHIE married CATHERINE MCKENZIE at Markinch Fife 3rd December 1857. Their marriage cert says Catherine was 21, her place of residence was Scotland Wells, Port Moak, & her parents were Alexander McKenzie & Christina Angus. I have not been able to find a marriage for Alexander & Christina nor a birth for Catherine. I have Catherine's death cert but it says her age was 40 in 1883 which I don't think is right. Either that or the age on her marriage cert is wrong. Please--- Please---Please can you maybe shed some light on this for me. I would love to go to Edinburgh myself to get to the bottom of this but living in England makes it more difficult when all my rellies were Scottish. Many thanks for any help/advice Kindest Regards Katherine |
