Find Ancestors

I would like to trace any living relatives of my late father (RIP) as above, He had or has a brother called Derek Ernest Morley 1932 (see tree). He had 2 daughters and his wife was/is called Elizabeth. They lived near Brighton when I last sore them about 17 years ago! Derek would be quite old now. Is Derek still alive? where are his children (My cousins) its a shot in the dark and hard as he was born after 1901. I posted this in case someone knows them. Hi thanks to all for help. I can't look in a phone directory I am not living in the UK. My fathers brother was/is Derek Ernest Morley 1932 son of: Ernest Albert MORLEY b. 31 January 1900 Islington and his mother Rosa May TUCK (Morley) b. 29 November 1898 Holborn fact. Dereks brother my father is now dead as is Rose Morley (Tuck) my fathers name is below- Ronald George MORLEY b. 28 October 1934 Belvedere, Kent d. 3 December 1978 Derek had two daughters. His wife was named Elizabeth. I think his daughters were called Deborah and Sarah Morley. both must be married now? Derek will be old now or maybe dead? (hope not) They lievd near Brighton. Can you find anything on them? I would love to make contact. Do you know when Rose Morley died? when I last sore her she was almost 90 and that was about 17 years ago. Justin

Oh I see never heard of BU directory (phone) I'll have a sift through Google as you suggest. Rome was not built in a day. I think he lives/lived in Hove near Brighton, if I remember correctly. last sore Derek about 17 years ago could not find him on Ancestory on the free 3 day trial alive or dead. I found when Rose died but thanks. I do not use the WWW much so its a new toy for me.

Dereks daughters- Deborah late 60's or mid 70s and Sarah in the 70's. Deborah was older than Sarah. I remeber they lived near Brighton I think in Hove (if thats near Brighton). Ort somthing on-sea or beginning with S? I only went there once 17 years ago or more. Dereks wife was Elizabeth and you know when Derek was born and his mother and brother (my late father). See tree I'll try B4U but it may be vast or too complicated for me at this stage. I found out when pooor Rose died, 1992 but seh had a long life! THANKS

Well done Jess. I did look!! I expect Derek is still alive and well? he would be old now if he was born in 1932. Any record of his wife and children?

I tried B4U and there were 4 or 5 morley's listed as being in Brighton. I called 3 but they were not Derek. I think its like trying to find a small needle in a big haystack. Maybe its possible to find any census info but he was born after 1901 so not possible.

Morning Justin, As the people you are trying to contact may well still be alive, have you put a message on the 'trying to find' board? You might find living relations that way.

It looks possible. I tried the number but NO reply. His wife was called Elizabeth and he had 2 daughters named Sarha and Debora. He may have moved home to there? Thanks Pete.

the only Derek E Morley marriage I've found so far is Derek E Morley 1955 Q2 - Mansfield 3c 421 he married a Mary Thorpe. Marie Searched marriages up to 1974. There is only 1 Derek E Morley 1955. He may have just used his first name Derek when registering the marriage.

I tried again and got an answer phone left a message and my email. Maybe its them? if so they will email me if not they wont. Fingers crossed. The perosn who recored the message sounded familiar as Sara but I last sore her about 16 years ago!! Nice one Pete I don't how I would trace these people and expand the tree without all your help on this site. I would not make a good detective! Justin

Derek married an Elizabeth unless he was married before? not Mary Thorp
