Hi Angie I saw that one and did wonder myself, but I did not check back to see if there was a Robert Brown that matched this one on the 1891 census. He could just have easily been fighting in the Boer War and not enumerated on the census. If you can get that 1924 marriage certificate it should say his status on marriage which could give a clue to if he has been married before. I was also thinking he would have been in his 30's during WW1 so could he have a pension record on Ancestry as they have done the 'B's. Do you have any information on his activities during WW1? Angie Where have you found Thomas H Brown plus wife and Charles H. Brown ? Regarding Ancestry.... the info. that I have found is taken from Ancestry Free BMD.... you just need to register with that section and it is genuinely free access to Births/Marraiges/Deaths between 1837 and 1983. Google - Ancestry Free BMD and choose 2nd on list and then choose Complete Index 1837 - 1983 on Home page. Regards - Jimbob |

Angie May have found the Marraige of Thomas Brown & Sarah ( parents of Edward R. Brown - b. 1881 ) MARRAIGE - ??? Thomas Brown & Sarah Doel 31 Jan 1861 - St. Andrews, Clifton, Gloucester. All their children were born in Clifton, Gloucestershire according to 1881 Census info. that Gail found for you. On the Transcript of said Census it states that one of the sons is called William Brown - aged 17 in 1881 so parents marraige would be before 1864 or 1863. What do you think ? Found the info. on a genuine parish record on IGI Family search. Regards - Jimbob ps - ask Gail what she thinks of this possible marraige. |

Angie Just confirming what Gail has found on 1881 Census which shows Edward Robert Brown as 3 months of age. Have done search on Ancestry FreeBMD for 1881 and there is a birth for an Edward Robert Brown as follows - BIRTH - Edward Robert Brown - 1881 BARTON REGIS - Q1 - vol.6a, p64 As 1881 Census was taken 3 April it means that Edward was probably born January 1881. What do you think ? I think that Gail has found the correct Edward and also you now have his parents names. Jimbob |
