Find Ancestors

Please can anyone help me?.. I am looking for a lady called Lena Hembrow on the 1881 or 1891 census. She was born abt 1870 in Stoke Gregory which i believe is in Somerset. Her fathers name is John Hembrow. I have looked on FreeBMD for her birth and I cant find it. If I can find her on a census before 1892 it would be a great help. She married Thomas Chorley in 1892 in Bishops Hull Somerset and was living in Taunton on the 1901 census. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks Jane

Her name is more likely Ellen, have you her mothers name or siblings Carrie

there are a few Elizabeth and Ellen Hembrow's all with father John in the area birth c1868-1874, do you know he's occupation?

Carrie I didn;'t know that her name could be Ellen. It is Lena on her marriage cert And I only know her fathers name from the marriage cert. His name was John and he worked as a Hay Cutter in 1892. Sorry I can't help you more. Jane

Well after checking the 1891image - it had been wrongly transcribed. Hi Have just found a marriage for John Hembrow and Sarah Rockett in 1844. Which means they must have been quite old when they had Ellen Anothe possibility would be that he married Sarah Sidford in Bridgewater in 1851 which is more likely

Hi Penelope With the census information that you have given me then the family in the 1891 and the 1901 has got to be my family. Now I will have to write it down to get a clearer picture. Penelope If that is them on the 1871 there is no way they married in 1851. So I will have to look for another marriage. jane
