Hi Jennifer - Reg I received James Brittain's birth cert today it states George the father, the mother is Eliza Brittain formerly Croot in italic writing in a nibed pen. They were living on Seventh June 1868 when James was born @ 27 Theeling Steet, Islington. Now we can proceed with our Quest. It would then favour your find Reg of the marriage details of them on this board. You are correct. All the details I have regarding Eliza that on census is that she was born Potton Beds., Abt 1834. I also have 1851 census Brittain family living 91 Horn Lane Potton. George is 14yrs old. By 1861 family living 93 Brittains Yard Potton Beds. 1861 Census for 1861 Islington , Finsbury, St Andrews, George & Eliza Brittain married living 9 Upper Gifford Islington both 24yrs! Linda Crookes also found these details on another message board. Very greatful to all. So there must be a 1851-1841 census Potton with the Croot family. Needs further work. Best regards Clive. |
