Roy, I don't think there was any doubt about that 1901 census. I'm very cautious about jumping to conclusions but there could not be many Wilfred G Lloyds born c1866 Darlington who were colliery agents in known coalfield areas, plus Christopher did mention Bath.

If you have time to read through some of the threads on these boards you will see the amount of effort we amateurs (but also some semi and professionals) expend helping other members. There have been several instances when professional genealogists have taken advantage of this and posted questions and then passed that freely gained information to their paying clients. I'm not for one minute implicating you in that as you were responding to a post by Christopher "whoever he is" (actually he's a member who was asking for advice).

As you enjoy unpaid research you might find it rewarding to pitch in and help on some threads rather than writing it off, your comments do come across as rather arrogant but that may not be intentional.

Just so you know, when you post a response on someone's thread they are not notified by Genes Reunited. If a thread is not current then it's most likely that the original poster is not checking back daily for replies so the best way to respond is to click on their name to send a direct message which they WILL be notified of providing they've kept their contact details up to date.

Roy, I am surprised anybody bothered to look at your post at all. We are all enthusiastic amateurs who want to try and give something back for the time other enthusiastic amateurs have spent helping us. In short a family :-)

None of us take "leaps of faith" lightly but we all try and weigh up the pros and cons and, of course, we are all just throwing things into the melting pot.

So your grudging thanks and your casted slights are not helpful. And if you are messaging people, presumably with comments that would not be acceptable publicly, do not sit well with me personally.

For your consummate info...I do not hide behind an avatar...I was born Judith Andrea Llewellyn, I am proud to have been married 33 years to Mr Hunt. I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a graduate biochemist, a dangerous goods safety adviser and an enthusiastic amateur genealogist.

Please do not write us all off - as a group we're not bad. And maybe as MC says...give others on GR the benefit of YOUR experience...

I rarely "crow" about me.....I am very proud of my BSc (second in my family, first female to go to university) I am even more proud of my DGSA qualification attained at the age of 52...if I can be even more proud (lol) it is of my marriage of 33 years (he proposed after 5 days together) and my wonderful daughters. And this FH stuff came late in life...I consider myself to be fairly experienced and like to share my subscriptions and amateur expertise with people. And most of all I love my GR family...and you are all a family which I discovered when my mum died at Christmas 2012 - thank you :-)
