Find Ancestors

Hi I am trying to find out the parents names of Thomas Probert born in Shropshire 1810, I know he was married to Charlotte Rogers and they had four children and they lived in Kinnerley Shropshire. I also know who his children married. But have come a bit stuck trying to to find his parents names and if he had any siblings any help would be most welcome kind regards Doug

You say he died in 1847…….there doesn’t appear to be any record online

You need to find his baptism. Where have you been looking?

Is this the death you refer to - 1849. Oswestry RD covers Kinnerley

If it is the one you refer to then either he wasn't born 1810 or his age at death is wrong.

According to the 1841 census, Thomas wasn't born in Shropshire. He was a Farmer

Recorded as aged 30 he could have been aged 30-34, so born 1807-1811 as ages over 15 were meant to be rounded down to the nearest 5. Death registration suggests 1805/6.

The 1849 death is of a man who was buried in Kinnerley on 12th June

One of the witnesses to his marriage was a John Probert.

Thomas was ‘of this Parish’ when he married in Kinnerley, but that means ONLY that he was living there at the time.

They married by Licence on 31st December 1832

According to the Kinnerley burial record of the Thomas buried on 12th June 1849, his abode at the time was Dovaston (part of the Parish of Kinnerley)

There is the burial in Kinnerley of a
Mary Probert - 13.1.1839 aged 5 weeks - of Edgerley

John aged 8 is in Oswestry as a Cow Boy. He is shown as Nephew to Edward Parry a Farmer born West Felton, Shropshire aged 43.
