Sue -

You said,
"she doesn’t live at any of the addresses for mentioned, which makes me think she is either deceased or in a nursing home".

Assuming that means you have already tried contacting her at the 2015-16 address, then yes, she must be in a care home.

As already said, she hasn't died, unless just in the last few weeks. SP's death records are updated quite promptly.

The 192 entry is only the ER to 2016...............

She isn't in the current telephone directory

Women were not called up for National Service after 1945.

The last call-up for men was at the end of 1960, and National Service stopped when the last men called up had finished their period of service.

Google it.

It most certainly was..............

Surely post war national service was only for men.

Sue Report 21 Aug 2025 15:35

Maybe it was National service, I’m not too sure when that stopped

Alice was still at North Anderson Drive in 1956-60, and then in Abbotshall Drive from 1961 until at least 1975.

Her parents and William were at North Anderson Drive in 1954 -55, but Alice wasn't with them.

If she was in the forces, it must have been either 1954-55, or else before she was 21.

Oh wow,! Another brother, thank you so much for that..
I would love to be able to find out more about her life, she is a distant aunt, nobody can find out much about her life, there was a rumour that she was in the forces for a while and had visited family in America ,but how true that was I don’t know..she doesn’t live at any of the addresses for mentioned, which makes me think she is either deceased or in a nursing home .x

Born in 1932, she doesn't appear on ERs until 1953, when she's 21.

1953, she's at 209 North Anderson Drive, with her parents, brother William - and (aha! ) another brother, Robert C Chesser.

Robert Charles Chesser, born 1921 in St Nicholas reg district.

Robert's marriage:

CHESSER, ROBERT CHARLES

Death:

His wife died in Aberdeen in 2007.

They had a son, Graeme .
No other records for him on SP.
Living in Aberdeen in 2008. No other Chessers listed with him.

ADDED:
Still living in Aberdeen..
He has a Facebook page, and various other Google results.

ArgyllGran Report 21 Aug 2025 12:15

As she didn't marry, and is still living (unless died in just the last few weeks) there are no further online records for her.
A Google search doesn't come up with anything.

The Scottish 1939 Register isn't searchable. You can apply to see her entry - but for a fee, and only after she has died, and if you know her exact date of death. Even then, it would only be her personal record - not of the whole household.
From the information already discovered, the household would consist of Alice, her parents, and her brother, unless he was away. He was a Lieutenant in the RA in 1941.

What are you hoping to find?

If you're hoping for a service record for her, it won't be online.

She's still living, as far as anyone can tell from online records.
Why not try writing to her, as already suggested?

Is it only Alice you want to find out about, or are you also interested in her ancestry?
