	I agree with Alviegal in having doubts about the 1944 death - the man's age is several years "out" from what your grandfather's would have been, Kathleen, although as already said, it all depends on what the informant believed to be true.
	Researching: Old genealogists never die.....they just lose their census.

I very much appreciate everyone’s time and all of the information provided. It really means a lot. I have just retired and I’m finally getting to the point where I can begin some more serious research. Everything that’s been provided here is very helpful. Can’t thank you all enough and again, my apologies for not replying somehow this slipped through the cracks.

Member Since: January 2004 Posts: 43 Send Message	Taking a quick look at everything and with what little I know, I believe the birthdate of 31 August 1885 to be correct. It looks like I may be incorrect about the year of death. One thing I can remember from growing up is being told that my grandfather died during the war, and my father was brought home from the front lines to see him before he passed. I will keep looking to see if I can find an accurate date of death.
