This man presumably survived, as did Herbert Glindon, as he's not listed on the CWGC site.

Herbert and Margery/Marjorie had two sons before the 1939 register was compiled

She and the elder boy are living with her parents, George & Emma
Sadly, the younger one died soon after birth

The elder son died in Birmingham in 1977, having probably married there in 1959

1984 Herbert marries Ivy Delaney in Bucks.
1987 Herbert dies in Bucks.
Again thanks for all your help I would not have found some of these answers without your help. I know to be sure it needs certificates etc. but sounds correct at the moment.

Have you considered that Minnie J re-married?

Her birth was registered AMJ 1879. Bear that in mind when looking for her in 1939

ErikaH. Brilliant. I think this is definitely then. I am researching Minnie Agnes Adams b 1909 and had the 6 children born before and up to Minnie and appear to have missed !! the next 5 children. Oops. One had died by 1921 but Margaret, Herbert, Priscilla May and Gwendoline are all there.. Thank you so much.
I have just found a James Adams death in Hereford in 1926 and my James would have been 60 so possible. and would answer why I cant find him in 1939.!
