Clement Hubert Karlovsky was born 4/1/1882 at Smichov Bohemia district Czech Republic parents Joseph Karlovsky & Antonie Vikova

Czechoslovakia was formed from several provinces of the collapsing empire of Austria-Hungary in 1918, at the end of World War I. In the interwar period it became the most prosperous and politically stable state in eastern Europe. It was occupied by Nazi Germany in 1938–45 and was under Soviet domination from 1948 to 1989. On January 1, 1993, Czechoslovakia separated peacefully into two new countries, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

I have today spoken with a lady at the National Australian Archives in Perth they have several papers on Clement Hubert Karlovsky's application for Naturalisation. I am going to their office next Thursday to look at them I think this should give me his place of birth also his family names.

Austria makes sense.
Czechoslovakia didn’t come into being until 1918 , before that it was part of the Austrian empire.

Clement Hubert is probably an anglised version of his original names so you might have to look into that too.

Received the marriage Certificate today 3 July 1912 at West Perth it has his parents as Joseph Karlovsky (grocer) & Antonie Vitkova he was aged 29 years so born about 1883. It does not give any address's sorry to say

Sending off for the Marriage/Death certificates as none of the family have these

I will ask the family for any certificates they might have Thank you all

Guess it’s applying locally for a copy of the marriage cert

So it’s back to what is on his marriage c ertificate, if it can be found.
