Hmmm that is really interesting, I have a vague memory of our McNair side having family either in America or Oceania...

I can't find divorce records for Maud and William Arthur, but I'm fairly new to the game so I'm not sure if those are readily available?

Also of note - from the newspaper article, it sounds like William Arthur was living in Quebec Mews in London in 1924

What's the Sartori relation? Or is that unrelated?

I'm trying to find criminal records currently to help me pin down any more deets, as I know William Arthur Mcnair was in prison in 1924 (charged by Greenwich Magistrate)... but my amateur sleuthing skills are making it hard!!!

OH ignore me... Elvira Sartori! There just seem to be so many William Mcnairs around that time I have no idea how to determine which is the right one

Get a copy of the 1957 marriage cert for father’s name.

In your shoes, I’d be seriously considering the NZ death cert as an option.
