Given Kenneth and Margaret Ann married in 1882, there is a son called Alfred born c1879 in the census 1891 that I posted, so born before the marriage.

However the grandmother of this Alfred McKenzie is an Ann SMITH, which is the maiden name of Margaret Ann, as given on the birth of her son Frank Shand McKenzie, and indeed, Margaret Ann isalso listed here under her maiden name of Smith.

EDIT: Ancestry's transcription gives Durris as the birthplace for Margaret Ann.

Not sure where to start looking for Kenneth aka Christina McKenzie, as the 1891 census says he was born c1857 England, which is a bit vague...

Frank's birth certificate gave the date and place of his parents' marriage. If you look that marriage up on Scotlandspeople you will get the names of Kenneth's parents including his mother's maiden surname. You will then be able to look for a marriage for them (hopefully his Mum won't have too common a surname).
