Aren't you lovely people! Thank you so very much for all your perseverence. Dare I ask a question or two (sorry) - on the 1841 census a Sarah Thomas aged 35 is shown - do you think she was John Thomas 50 daughter? No ' wife' or 'daughter' was shown. |

Unfortunately 1841 census doesn't show the relationships of the people in the house. |

This could be the marriage of John and Sarah? |

The John Thomas in 1861 census could very well be the brother of Abel, as mother Sarah looks to be with three other children in 1851 census (see above), and one is John aged 7yrs so he would be 17yrs old in 1861. |

Aaah Thanks Catherine, you're a star. I thought Sarah may have been Johns wife even though there was a big age gap but I have come across this before, |

For what it is worth, I think that John Jenkins (93 on 1861 census) is Sarah's father. On the 1841 census they are listed directly above Sarah and her husband on the census page. |

Sorry for not replying sooner! I also thought William could be Janes' uncle. I have just re-read the posts and noticed that there are 2 John Thomas in the John and Sarah family. One born in 1828 and another born in 1842 so am going to try to find what's what with them. |
