I have a great Aunt in my tree Edith Greennwood born in 1895 in Manchester.
Daughter of James Greenwood and Jane nee Turner.

Had siblings Florence, Amy, James and Leonard.

I can't find anything on Edith or Leonard.

Did they marry?
Did they have children?
Did they die young?

I was told years ago that she had a shop in Collyhurst Manchester but I don't know what type of shop it was.

Leonard is another mystery. I have seen that marriage but I am not sure as I have found nothing else to confirm.

He lived in Gatley near Stockport in later life and woked at Renold Chain factory.
My dad has no recollection of him being married or having children or when he died. I was hoping i would have some second cousins I didn't know i had.

Leonards was in Harperhey as well. Next door to Moston where the family was in 1911.

Well the father's name for Leonard on that marriage is correct and the occupation is very similar to that for James in 1901. Looks sufficient proof to me.

If you look on freebmd there is a birth registered for a son in 1931.

It's the right church too. I was christened in Christchuch, my mum and dad were married there and my mum was christened there.

So Leonard was married and had a son.

I think I am officially rubbish at this I can't find a death or marriage for the son now?

I was gettting my hopes up I might have a living relatitve on my fathers side.

There are a couple of possible marriges in Stockport but of course his son may have married anywhere. As for a death well he may well still be alive! I know loads of people born before 1931 who are still alive but I guess I must be a bit older than you Simon lol.

I am only in my 40's that's why I struggle with my 20th Century family history and I don't have anyone else who remembers it.

If he was still alive that would be amazing. He would be oldest person alive in my extended familiy and a direct link to my great grandfather.
