thanks everyone the 1881 for eliza is right because those were her chjldren and the son john george did end up in b'ham as for charles do you think he remarried someone name emma? |

well did think that so charles must have been a bigamist and eliza just took the smith name although her children were still melhuish |

You could get Charles's marriage certificate to Emma to see what he claims to be - single or widowed, for confirmation and interest. |

so he's either lying or this isn't the correct charles george although everything points to it being him. it is interesting that they ended up in london and birmingham. |
