Yes I agree, it could another one - but Thomas (mmn Isherwood) never showed up on any of the census returns with the rest of the family, so it stongly points to him dying in infancy.

Susan doens't have anything to point to Thomas being a sibling, the farmer/landowener could or could not have been a relative/ancestor.

There is a Thomas birth on Lancashirebmd in 1845, so wonder if he died in infancy - so not the Thomas owning the property?

there are several Procter / Isherwood births in Burnley including a Thomas (1845)

Thanks to you all for replying , Joseph lived at 15 & 17 wilkinson street Burnley the cottages were owned by Thomas Procter ( occupation farmer ), could this thomas be a brother , uncle , cousin . ??? we can't find anything joseph died at 53 , we the family were always told joseph's mother was grace slater but can't confirm if this is correct

Perhaps I have read this wrong, but does Susan not say that Joseph's mother is Grace Slater?

Where does this name come from please Susan?

I realise that everything points towards Margaret and James being his parents but one of Joseph and Susan's children is called Grace so wondering where Grace Slater comes into this.
