Looking good. Willie is there as well. Is the mother alive in the 1891 census?

Yes Sorry must have got the 1915 wrong. Irene and Frances are his daughters. Harold died in France in 1944. So they married in Dublin. Leonard died in Southampton in 1965. Sarah in 1963.Great stuff! Thanks!

Are you presuming the 1911 is correct then looked at at the 1901 and found his father, Edwin, is a sail maker or do you have any proof of his occupation

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 25 Oct 2012 20:51

If this IS the correct 1911 then it looks like it may be his brother with him:

The probate GB found confirms that the 1917 birth appears to be correct.

Could this be Irene's birth with mmn mistranscribed?

Births Jun 1917
Crowther Irene M McCalvey S. Stoneham 2c 157

EDIT: Looks likely given this birth

Births Jun 1918
Crowther Frances McCauley S. Stoneham 2c 165

Births Sep 1920
Crowther Harold B McCauley S. Stoneham 2c 196

Lima, you said first child born 1915 - was there another one?

GlitterBaby Report 25 Oct 2012 20:43

How do you know the occupation of his father if you do not have the marriage cert

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 25 Oct 2012 20:42

Possible for the marriage:

Ireland, Civil Registration Marriages Index, 1845-1958
Name: Leonard Crowther
Date of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec 1916
Registration district: Dublin North
Volume: 2
Page: 471
FHL Film Number: 101263

There's a Sarah McAuley on the same page.

Lima100 Report 25 Oct 2012 20:41

Dont know her name only that Leonards mother died when he was about seven. I believe Leonard married Sarah before 1915 when the first child was born. They had two daughters Frances and Irene and son Harold all born in Southampton.

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 25 Oct 2012 20:35

Lima, if you know his mother died c1897 then what was her name?

Do you have a rough idea of when he married Sarah?

Did he have children? If so who where and when.

There were several Leonard Crowthers born around the time so do you know for definite that the info you have is correct?
