If he changed his name officially then you may be able to find information. |

Is his first name reasonably unusual? By finding him on the census with his second surname, then searching on a site such as Ancestry ( not Genes unfortunately) it is possible to enter the first name, together with the year of birth and the place of birth. This will bring up a long list of possibilities but if you know that you are looking for a jewish surname, it might be a long shot, but one worth trying. -jl |

A copy of his marriage certificate hopefully should name his father whose surname hopefully will not have been changed. |

my great grandfather was jewish and changed his surname. I can't find out anything about him as I don't know his first surname. Does anyone know what else I could do. Your help would be greatly appreciated. |
