First find your hospital :-)

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/hospitalrecords/

The database provides information on the existence and location of the records of UK hospitals.

Good luck

I was able to access records from this hospital - Records of ST. ANDREW'S HOSPITAL; Devons Road, Bromley-by-Bow, London, E3 3NT. - information on the National Archives

The records described on this page are held by Royal London Hospital Archives and Museum - which led me to this link

Hospitals and infirmaries at this time were often attached to the workhouse, so see if any of their records have survived. You could also try local newspapers in the archives to see if they reported the accident.

My mother told me that her farther was injured in a blast at work when he was a young man, about 1908, and he lost a kidney. I know the area the hospital would have been in, but are there any sites that I could access to find out details?

Thanks in anticipation

Kathlyn
