Hi
Would anyone be able to help look up Alice Emma Baker born 1844 in the Bristol area (probably Bedminster) and would also be living in the same area.
Thanks
Charlotte

I am still trying to trace John Sayers/Sayer born bristol 1862 and thought this could be the family but he doesnt appear anywhere so I think that is another dead end.
it has started me thinking was he actually born a Sayer as there is just no trace of him anywhere until 1891!!!

Hello Charlotte, I'm a little puzzled (doesn't take much, some days!) - I thought it was Alice Emma Baker you were after?
Was he actually Alice Emma's son, or was that a guess? If he was her son then he'd be registered as Baker (if his birth ever was actually registered) if he was born 1862 and she didn't marry until 1863.
Can you give us details of that 1891 that you're trying to work back from.

Yes it was a bit of a guess
I have posted about trying to trace him before and I have all the information from 1891 onwards (so have him in 1891,1901 and 1911 census) but I cant find a birth or find any trace in 1871 and 1881
The reason I asked for this information above is I have John Sayers marriage certificate to Elizabeth Ann Smith in Bristol in 1886 and they have his father down as John Sayers/Sayer aslo. I was looking at marriages of a John Sayer/Sayers (father of John (1862) in the Bristol area and came across the above and wondered whether Alice may have had a son before marriage but he was brought up as a Sayers (it was a long shot really).
