On the 1911 it gives that Bertha has been married 38 years, 2 children born 2 living...so there seems to be a discrepancy here? |

I can't see anything obvious on Family search which has some German births. unless by any chance he was with his sister in the US for one of the census there? |

Thank you for your help, but I was wondering about Bruno's brother Franz who as far as I know never came to England, but did go to America to see his sister. Is there any way of finding out about German citizens? |

My grandfather was German and was born in Selescia, Germany, he came to England when very young with his brother Richard and mother Martha and father Franz Pohl born C.1850. My grandfather was Bruno Karl Pohl b.c.1881. I have found out that there were other children in the family a daughter who went to live with her husband in America and another brother also named Franz. But I do not know anything about Franz except I found out that he may have gone into the German army in the WW1. Can anybody help. |
