Evening

I have found 6 possible birth for my relation. My problem is that some of the births are registered Ormskirk and some say Southport. Now i know from common knowledge of the area that some Southport births are registered as Ormskirk but need to clarify which are mine. I cannot currently afford 6 certs.

Mark - which one are you tracing (or both)? Or is it their children?

If you know when/where they died then the death record may give a date to help narrow it down.

Or is it a child of this marriage that you're looking for? FreeBMD has 6 Hartill children with mother's maiden name Hodge born between 1931-1944. The first 2 are registered in Ormskirk, next 4 in Southport.

Ormskirk was the registration district for Southport pre June 1934, so quite possible for them all to be the same family.

Yes, I'm sure they're all the same family with the 2 year gap between them except for the last one.

Yes the children of this marriage - i spend the afternoon in the library looking at the local newspapers bmd section

The spacing of the births and they fact there's no other Hartill/Hodge marriage would suggest they are the same family.

I would think most of the family are still alive so tracking them down would be cheaper than buying 6 certs.

Checked and corrected - although i have no dates for Martha Hodge so no idea how old she would of been after last child born..
