Could anyone help find any information on edward andrews and family born in the bourne area. he married Harriet vine in the 1861 census there was a robert andrews "grandson " born in sleaford 1859 and in the 1871 census i have found a "grandaughter" fanny born in1870.
i am also keen to find out more about george andrews 1880 -1957

what i find odd about george is that he married margaret sleight who died oct 1908 my grandmother ada margaret andrews was born feb 1908 but i cant find where she was on the 1911 census nor her brother george .i think i found her elder sister ivy in dunmore Lincoln if anyone can shed any light on this it would be great

I don't think the Ivy in Dunholme is yours as she appears to be with her father George born in Tetford in 1879. We know that your George is at home with his parents in 1911.

When and where were George and Ivy born?
Do you have the marriage certificate of George to Margaret Sleight to confirm that he is the son of Edward?

george 1905 i believe was born in south Ormsby
Ivy ? 1907 i am not sure where she was born but i assume somewhere in lincolnshire as Ada Margaret was born 1908 in glanford brigg
George Andrews 1880 is the son of Thomas Andrews ansd Mary Tindall (assuming i am right) and georges grandfather was Edward 1805 who married Harriet Vine.
I havent got the marriage certificate for margaret and george perhaps i ought to purchase it?

I can find the baptisms for George and Ada but not for Ivy?

Edit I would def purchase the marriage cert for george (bn 1880) and margaret ,it is the only way to be sure you have the correct parents .

It seems more than likely that Lorraine has linked to the wrong parents for George.

Her direct relative Ada Margaret is with Bertha and Herbert Shaw but it is not Bertha Andrews which is where the confusion arises. She was Bertha Fotherby and she married Herbert Shaw in 1907. She was born in Haddington in 1886 to parents Joseph and Jane.

I can't find the link to Ada Margaret being Niece at the moment.

Ah. Herbert had a sister Margaret E born in Asgarby in 1885.

She is with her parents as Shaw in 1891 but in 1901 she has become Sleight.I'm sure it's the same person. I wonder why??

I have to go out but will come back to this later.

It looks as though the whole family apart from Herbert changed their name to Sleight between 1891 and 1901
