Paul as showing on free bmd also has a brother, born 1962.

Their father appears to have been born in Neath in 1935.

I was going to ask if Paul could be Thomas's son, but Thomas died:
Births Dec 1912
Mulcahy Thomas W S Bass Wandsworth 1d 972
Deaths Dec 1912
Mulcahy Thomas W S 0 Wandsworth 1d 503

Why do you believe Paul was Leslie's son, did it say nephew on the death certificate?

Added:
Please ignore this.
Paul is showing on ancestry, but not on free bmd.

Paul L was born in Luton, with the parents that you have previously mentioned. Ignore information about 'wrong' ones.
His birth shows on ancestry, not free bmd.

By George. you're right. Patchem!

How sad! Born the same quarter that his father died.
