Good evening- i would like to start researching my father's mother's side ( Gray)

My nan was born 24/02/1939 in Winton . she is still alive. She knew nothing of her mothers family . She cant quite remember the dates but a rough guess would be 08/11/1910 she was born in Winchester and her name was Elsie Winton.

Her Father was Edwin Gray possibly born in 1907 on 29th of jan but we know he was born in shaftsbury.

Would be appreciated if anyone could help me in the right direction my nan has brothers and sisters. One sister i know is June. If anyone finds a june gray as my nans sister then this would be correct!

The 1911 census posted earlier is NOT the child born in late 1905........it's the one born JFM 1904

Hi thank you for the help but i mentioned before my grandmother's details are Cynthia Anne GRAY Born. 24/02/1939.

I cant find any information on Free BMD i find it very confusing and i cant afford to pay for these sites like i used to.. i do contact people on here but get very little feedback. If i knew how to use it i wouldn't be asking for help. I dont think the name ball rings a bell iv always known my grandmother and her sister to be known as Grays,

More info - My nan had 2 children . Andrew Huey and my father ( Stuart Paul Huey ) by their father Allan John Huey.

She may of been married to my grandfather i have no idea. i never met him. he is dead now anyway.

She also had one daughter Sarah Vine by Stephen Vine - now divorced.
