Michael

Michael Report 24 Jul 2012 00:40

His daughter was Margretta, born in 1875 (Maesteg) who married a Daniel William King Davies in 1895, her wedding certificate said her Father was Edward Morgan(s), who was deceased and was a Miner Iron ore. I have Census record of 1881 where his wife Mary was a widower, there was also a son David John Morgan(s) born 1873 (Maesteg). In that Census it said David was 8 and Margretta 6, so I assumed he died between 1875 -1880, before the 1881 Census. I can't seem to find a match, for his marriage to Mary (Maiden Name Unknown), I'm not used to searching England & Wales records, so any help would be appreciated and if I can reciprocate with any Scottish records that would be no problem. Thanks Mike Burgess :-)

This is the only one I can find with a link to Iron Ore. Most others are Coal.
Edward is a Puddler who apparently made wrought iron using the puddling process - a very skilled, dangerous process. So not a miner of it.

There are lots of Morgan/s about.
