Good morning all in the forum.
John Scobie/skoby born about 1806 may be in Yorkshire. In the 1841 census it says There may be a connection to bowman or boman scobie or lazenby I am looking for his father or further back . I am a bit stalled now.

on the 1841 census, under whether born in county it says N. The next column, where it says born scotland, ireland or foreign.. has been left blank. Do we take this to mean he was born in England but not in Lancashire .

One of the witnesses to the marriage by licence at Toxteth Park, St James, appears to be Mary St**y Parry

There are several removal orders in the nationalarchives, 1844 and 1845 for Ann Eliza, husband John( Absent), plus children. This was to remove them from Toxeth, Liverpool to Great Driffield/Bridlington, Yorkshire which is why i am thinking that is where they cam from.. Am I correct that they would have tried to remove the family back to their place of settlement in order to avoid being a drain on the poor law funds... can someone confirm this for me??
