My subscription has run out & I can't renew at the moment - so I hope someone or maybe a few of you whilst doing your own research could keep an eye out for a marriage that I've been searching for over the last 2 years.
I have checked over 100 registers (cover to cover!!), but as you know Essex must have close to a 1000!!
I have done the Epping registration district (47 parishes) & then did the first 3 parishes A-Z.
The person I am looking for is William Adams (baptised 1714 North Weald Bassett), but he lived in Latton,Essex.
All his children were baptised in Latton - the first in 1740 & his wife is named as Lettice & sometimes Latitia.
Hoping that a scatter gun approach might just hit the jackpot!! :-D
Many thanks.
Sharon

An after thought!!
If you do take the time to look for his marriage - could you just put the Parish name on here so I can add it to my list of Parishes checked.

Cheers

It´s possible they didn´t marry in Essex. It was usual for the marriage to take place in the bride´s parish.
Maybe she wasn´t an Essex girl.

Thanks peeps!!
I have tried family search as far as other counties but with no luck,(and Lettice/Latitia is quite unusual) so as Essex records haven't been transcribed for use on other sites it's the only one I can go for.
I'm working on the theory that girls didn't travel to far from home for work in the 1730's!!

Could this be it although quite late.
William Adams of Saint ann Westminster married Letitia Weaver of Saint Martin in the field Middlesex 15th Jan 1770. I know it's a long shot but perhaps they lived together first

Only Essex marriages I can find are 1738 Saffron Walden, 1735 Wanstead, 1739 Runwell and 1741 in Harwich. These are on pay to view findmypast

Hi mini - I do have ances - but I still can't find it!!
When the list of various records come up , mine only goes up to page 6!!
I know I'm not too smart with computers but can you talk me through what you entered to find it!!
I even tried just putting in Lattise Audley & marriage 1739 (I ticked exact) & that didn't show??
What am I doing wrong?!! :-( :-( :-(

The quickest way to get it is to go to marriages and put in Lattise Audley with spouse as William Adams. When screen appears change options to marriages and divorces then select Pallots marriages further down list. It is the tenth one down. Hope this is clear.

Chris Ho :) Report 5 Jun 2012 18:21

Lol. I've been trying too!...

On Pallots it comes up as 1828 St. Dunstan, Stepney. Pallots Index starts at 1780.

Chris :)

(just adding Seax, Essex Ancestors website still seems to be down)

sharonlondon Report 5 Jun 2012 18:21
