Emmeline Maude Julia Rodgers, of 58 Baldwin Road, Blackpool died 24/10/1947 probate Lancaster 5/3/1948 to Phyllis Irene Ashworth (wife of John Patrick Ashworth). Effects £11 8s 11d. Resealed Sydney New South Wales 22/11/1949

Did Emmeline own property in Sydney or was her daughter Phyllis living there in 1949?

If a person died outside the UK but has assets to be collected in the UK and probate has been indertaken abroad, then is it possible that the probate will be resealed by the probate office in London.

Astralia is one of rhe countries that recogn ise this act.

My Phyllis married John Patrick Ashworth but of course it is possible that Allan was a relative living in the househld if it is her.

Forgive my ignorance but would this mean that the family took 2 years to make a claim on her will or that new property or assets may have been found after 2 years and subsequently claimed for, £11 was'nt a great deal was it?

We assume so but have found no record of her divorce yet as he was next found in America with a new wife c1905, though as you've found, ended up back in the Uk at the time of his death.

He's here stating he is single

on her marriage cert to mr rodgers she claims shes a widow

I know, it seemed to have been a fairly messy business.
I've done a fir bit of researching on the Mesny side to glean any snippets but once he went to Baltimore it got difficult. I will have to obtain his death certificate I think just to confirm who was present at the time.

They went on to have 3 children though so maybe it was just an error in the records.
