I`m tying to find my grandfather Sydney William Weller, in 1911 cenus he is listed living in Brandon rd Brixton I am told that he enlisted in the Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment in 1914 and died Thiepval in 1916 but Ive been unable to find any record of service. Any one got an idea |

Just looking at the site I looked at quickly I'm afraid not. Why not google it yourself as there are plenty of other sites that cover the 3rd London Regiment; you might strike lucky! |

Says on newspaper clipping that At the time of their wedding mr Nye was on special leave from city of London Royal fusiliers. He had just recovered from being gassed in France. After he returned to active service in France, where he was captured by the Germans. his occupation was a painter and decorator. Gin i saw that gentleman ,but he didn't live in Kent. |

The only George William Nye records that I can find on Findmypast are for someone older than your grandfather. |
