Choccy's note: travelling to father - William Fairbourne, RFD 4, Box 46, Bessemer, Alabama
seems like it's mistranscribed, or, more likely, misrecorded.
There seems much more of Sarah's family in the US than Wm's.

Downtown Birmingham is exit 125 off I-20 and Bessemer is exit 112, so just 13 miles to SW.

I've got some Edwins in my tree, and half the time they're found as Edwards.
Maybe this is a northern thing, rather than a midlands one - don't have midlands rellies, so can't say.

[addy=Carbonado, Pierce Co WA - it's abt 30m from Tacoma, near the start of SR 165 leading to NW corner of Mt Rainier National Park.
Mt Rainier is the next volcano N of Mt St Helens.
NB Local weather lore - if you can see Mt Rainier, then it's going to rain, and if you can't see it, then it's raining.]

Sarah

[addy=2715 C Ave - A bit confusing this - the house has a 2nd h/h consisting of
L Fairburn a=23 pob=England, his wife Dovina Fairburn a=20 pob=AL, and his daur Dorris Fairburn a=18 pob=AL
The enumerator's penmanship is pretty cruddy - FS has the 2nd h/h as the Fairfwin's.]
