Herman MOAKES /MOKES was born in South Normanton in 1825 to Sarah Moakes. I have found him in 1841 & 1851 but after that - nothing. He married someone called Ann (but no marriage found) and had 3 children. George 1855, John 1857 and Louisa 1860 all born at SN. In 1871 I have found John & George living with a Isaac Spencer and wife Ann and here is the mystery as there is a marriage on FreeBMD of a Ann Moakes to Isaac Spencer, but no death of Herman. I have now found a court record dated 1895 of a Herman Moakes who was accused of an assult. Same Herman??? I can't find any Herman's in any census after 1851. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks |
