It's raining and windy and I'm not going to work on the roof I'm retiling! So, anyone want to help me marry or bury the following siblings of the the subject ?!?

All born in Aveley to James Whiffing Siggs and Mary Ann Whiffing Siggs:

Mary Ann Siggs 1805
Elizabeth Siggs 1804
John Whiffing Siggs 1811

I've searched FMP, LDS and any free sites without success.

I have on my tree a James Cracherode Siggs born Aveley 1806. I can't find a record of his death but have spotted in one of the newspapers (Sept 1827) a brief mention of the death of a James C Siggs, Brewer at Ratcliffe aged 21. Could anyone confirm that this is the same person ?

Thanks, Kevin

Hello Kevin ,

I hope you will not be offended if I ask a small favour of you

I note that you have a new 'board name' - this is very nice but unfortunately, because it is very long and does not have any spaces, it is widening the message board and so changing the layout of all the posts, which I am finding rather difficult.

Could you perhaps amend it in some way so that it doesn't cause this problem?

Many thanks,

Dea Xxx

P.S. - I just checked on the board as the problem disappeared when I first posted this message but if I delete and your name appears in the name of last poster space, that is when the problem occurs.

Oh...i thought it was just me that had an exrta wide screen!

That would explain it then!! :-)

I'd like to add my plea to please shorten your name. It's affecting the whole board. not just this thread.

Dea

Dea Report 4 Mar 2012 12:15

It's just one of those 'quirky' things on here Prickles - It seems to happen when he is the originator of the thread and so it widens that column and then when he adds a post it widens that column as well - hence the board goes too wide and gets itself into a twist ;-) :-D :-D

Kevin, you've just messed up the Genealogy Chat board now by adding posts to other's threads.
Note: Page 2 on both boards are OK because your threads haven't made it there yet.

Just put a couple of spaces in your name - that should do the trick

WhiffingSiggs

WhiffingSiggs Report 4 Mar 2012 14:16

Ah, I don't have to change it ?

Dea

Dea Report 4 Mar 2012 14:34

Another nice new name Kevin !!! ;-) :-D

No - you didn't have to change it completely - as Flip says, a couple of spaces in there will sort it!

Anyway, thanks for responding.

It is the fault of GR but it is very irritating when the board keeps going wide like that and it is very difficult to read the messages.

Best wishes,

Dea Xxx
