Find Ancestors

hi all , I've hit a brick wall!!!

does anyone have access to Ancestry and if so, could you please search for the following people:

The parents of Benjamin Bridgwater B1803, in Chirbury, Shropshire.

I know they are John & Eleanor, but what i really need is John's date of birth.

It is pre 1837 so maybe Ancestry won't have the information.

If this is the case,any clues as to where I could get this info without going to chirbury records office which is a 5 hour drive from my house.

Are the parents alive in 1841?.........

As Ann has posted, the records don't often give date of birth, a child could be baptised within days of birth, or some years later. However, the above seems to be the right man.

thanks guys for all this information, there is some I didn't have but what i really need to find out is John's date of birth. II know he married Eleanor Jones and died in 1835 but without his date of birth i'm stuck. How can I find it?

I've tried familysearch.org but still can't find him.
