The Ancestry 1841 has been transcribed differently but you will find him on GR using the census I posted from FMP

Mike - He posted that he had found Joseph in 1881 & 1891, and you say he had been given 1871.

We've found 1841 as requested. How about 1851 or is that buried in the thread?

They tended to round the ages down to nearest 5 in 1841

I am sure you can search on Find my past for free so it may be worth signing up so you can do wild card searches to find out the transcribed spelling then come back and find it on GR

I found that one by just entering Joseph Wooff*
If GR does not give this option it could take forever to find anything

You've also been given him in 1871 so is it the other 3 you are looking for or just 1841?

GR is far from the best place for research.

The familysearch sites are free....google for links.

No Kenneth, there are no useful free sites other than Freebmd. Most of us subscribe to fee-paying sites such as Ancestry or Find My Past. Basically you get a bargain with us. Though I believe that technically we are breaching the terms and conditions of our membership of such sites by using our subs to help non-members, but I think they have seen the sense to turn a blind eye, cos if they were too prescriptive we would all leave, and there would be no Genes Reunited any more, and reduced income for Ancestry and Find My Past.
