I'm still not sure, Mary. She could be, but I'm not certain.

After looking through a very messy 1911 census form through stronger glasses I can certainly see Alice Harbach and Ellen East Harbach both crossed out of the form because they were not living at their parents address in 1911. I am grateful that the errors were made. I am now sure that we have found Alice.

I think that from everyone's reports Alice, like me, found a home in Canada. I do hope that she didn't die so soon after arriving though.

Thank you all.

Her birth certificate would sort it for you...and yes a fortuitous error by the enumerator!

Thank you all. That census find was one in a million. Let's hope you all have such good luck with your own family trees.

I am sure it is our Alice who went to Canada
.
New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957

Name: Alice Harbach
Arrival Date: 1 Oct 1913
Birth Year: abt 1884
Birth Location: England
Birth Location Other: doderel (THIS IS NO DOUBT DODDERHILL)

But who was Mrs. Adams she went to stay with? She must have been a friend from home. Alice left Stephen Adams her estate. Was he Mrs. Adam's son or some other relative? Was he the father of the child Alice was carrying when she died? There are never ending questions in this search.

If you're interested look up the ship CARMANIA especially the 1913 voyage that Alice took. It's another interesting piece of history
