Wrong occupation - this one is a plumber

The entry I posted is from the 1901 index.
He is listed as aged 16 and a grocers assistant.
So the one listed as 17 won't be him.

I just don't have access to the details

Sounds like someone had a heavy cold when transcribing the 1901 .

UPDATE.

Have today seen the marriage entry for John Taylor and Ellen Wilding 30th Nov 1905.

John is listed as having no father.

Have found this entry in the births which looks like him if mother unmarried ( Leyland & Euxton close together)

Maureen, I think you've found him in 1901. though he seems to have gone from being Elizabeth's grandson in 1891 to nephew in 1901.

My grocer's boy was obviously wrong.

Their ages don't seem consistant.

I have a death for John in 1880 which freebmd has recorded as age 61, but according to the parish register looked at today it says 69.

Neither of which matches the age on marriage cert so need to pinpoint the right birth
